Thelonious Monk- Monk's Moods, Volume 1
I prefer Jazz music from the 50's and 60's. And when it comes to Jazz I look to these instrumental avenues to find fulfillment: for trumpet I turn to Miles Davis, for tenor sax I look to Sonny Rollins, for bass I lean on Charles Mingus, and for piano compositions I flock to Thelonious Monk. Monk's Moods was released in 1959 and it's a great introduction to the exuberant and unorthodox playing of Mr. Monk.
